COVID-19 - IS IT SAFE TO COME AND WHAT MEASURES ARE IN PLACE?We are open and operating within current government guidelines and consider our venue as safe as possible. We are an outdoor venue and our droplet transmission rate is considered 'low'. We take the safety of our customers extremely seriously and have also put in place additional measures. Please read the information on our dedicated Covid-19 page. However, please bear in mind that government guidelines are constantly changing and we try and keep the information on our website and social media platforms as up to date as possible. However, this is not always possible and we recommend you contact us prior to your booking if you have any concerns.
-
What is the minimum age requirement? The minimum age requirement is 5 years old. However please bear in mind not all 5 year olds will find this easy and you should use your discretion when considering purchasing a ticket. Please be aware children under the age of 12 are not allowed on the course without a parent who is also participating, i.e has purchased a ticket and will be on the course with them. Children remain the responsibility of their parent/guardian at ALL times.
-
Why do I need to sign a waiver? The obstacle course is a fun activity but carries a risk of injury. Signing a waiver ensures you are aware of the risks and have taken on board the Activity Rules and safety instructions. Our waiver is now available online. If you have completed a paper version previously, you will need to complete the online one. Once you have completed an online waiver you do not need to complete this again. For parties we now have an Event Waiver which you can sign on behalf of everyone. You will receive details when you book.
-
Who can complete a waiver? From the age of 16 you can sign your own waiver. Someone over the age of 18 is needed to sign a waiver of anyone under the age of 16.
-
Do I have to take part with my child?Yes if your child is under 12. You must purchase an Adult ticket and be on the course with your child/ren. You can bring up to 5 children onto the course under 1 Adult ticket. However, whilst it is okay to bring other children onto the course, you should decide if this suggested ratio is appropriate based on the cihldren's capability and behaviour. Children not adhering to the rules will be asked to leave the course. There are members of staff on the course at all times but if the sessions are busy they may not always be on hand to help your children. If your child is over 12 you must be present at the course but do not have to participate. If your child is over 16 you do not have to be present but in all cases you must have signed the waiver on behalf of your child unless they are over the age of 18.
-
Can my child bring his/her friends, even if their parents are not present?"Yes. However, if any of the children are under 12 at least one parent must be on the course as a participant. We do however recommend a ratio of no more than 1 adult to 5 children. However you should decide whether this is appropriate based on the children's capability and behaviour. Any children not adhering to the rules will be asked to leave the course. There are members of OTG staff on the course at all times but if the session is busy they may not always be on hand to help your children. Waivers must be signed for everyone taking part. If the parents/guardians of the children or your guests are happy for you to do so, and you have all the correct information to be able to complete the waiver, and sign it, you can do so on their behalf. In completing and signing these waivers, OTG assume you have the consent of the parent/guardian of anyone under 16.
-
Can I pay on the day?For most sessions you can but you may not be able to if it is an event so please check the advertising. It may also be more expensive and you will not be able to get online prices on the gate. If you have any difficulty booking online please call us on 07890 991437 or email us info@obstacletrainingground.com PLEASE NOTE: if a session has not been booked by anyone online, then we may decide not to run that session. We therefore strongly recommend you book online or phone/message at least 2 hours prior to the start of a session (and ensure you receive a response) to prevent a wasted journey.
-
If I change my mind or can't come, do you give refunds?"Unfortunately we do not provide refunds. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your session you will be able to book an alternative session, subject to availability. If you simply wish to change your booking we require 7 days' notice. We cannot amend/transfer sessions after this time. Provided you give us at least 7days' notice, we will be happy to transfer your booking to another date (subject to availability). Please note this cancellation policy does not apply to group bookings, private bookings or parties. Please message us for information regarding this.
-
How long is a session and what is involved? Each pay & play session is 90 minutes long. It starts with a safety brief and then a member of the OTG team will take you around the course (optional). You are then free to play on the equipment and there will be a timed lap at the end if you wish to take part in this.
-
What do I need to bring with me?You should bring proof of your booking and your signed waiver (if you have printed this). If not you will be asked to complete and sign a waiver. We also strongly recommend you bring gloves - this helps with grip and stops you getting splinters etc. However, these are available to buy on site but we cannot guarantee stock. Bringing your own drinking water is also recommended.
-
Are there changing facilitiesYes there are minimal changing facilities. We ask that you come dressed appropriately and bring a carrier bag to take wet/muddy clothes home in and a clean change of clothes. We also recommend you bring a towel.
-
What should I wear?We recommend you wear close-fitting clothing and layer up. You should wear clothing that covers your arms and especially your legs. We strongly recommend gloves. Trainers or trail shoes are essential. Strictly no spikes. High heels, flip flops and strappy sandals etc are not permitted on the course. Long hair should be tied back and all jewellery removed. Please do not bring valuables. If you do, you bring these entirely at your own risk. Gloves are available to purchase on-site subject to availability.
-
Is there water/refreshments available? At the moment we have no refreshments available but we are looking into this. We strongly recommend you bring bottles of water with you and please bring extra when the weather is hot. Please be aware there is lots of water around the course but this water is NOT suitable for drinking.
-
Are spectators allowed?Yes we welcome spectators! The obstacle course is a large arena with lanes. We ask that spectators stay on the edge of the arena and do not venture onto the lanes for health and safety reasons. We appreciate spectators may wish to take photos and we ask that you be considerate to the other participants when doing this and do not share images of other people on social media without their consent. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a participating adult who has purchased a ticket. You will then be permitted onto the lanes to assist with your child. You cannot do this as a spectator.
-
What about my toddler/other children who are not taking part? There is a small toddler area that we are currently developing. Your children under the age of 6 are welcome to play here but this is not supervised and you are responsible for your children at ALL times. Please bear in mind there is a car park just the other side of the area which will get very busy. Children who are not participating must not venture onto the obstacle course at ANY time. PLEASE NOTE THE TODDLER AREA IS NOT CURRENTLY IN OPERATION
-
Is it safe? This type of activity carries a risk of injury. OTG have taken all steps necessary to minimise risk but you should satisfy yourself that you are happy to take part before attempting the course, and that you are fit and well enough to do so. Safety rules are displayed around the course and the Activity Rules are attached to the waiver which you will sign before taking part. You should ensure you are familiar with them before taking part in this activity. A safety brief will also be given at the start of each session. Please pay attention. A safety check is also carried out prior to the start of each session. Any equipment deemed unfit for purpose will be sealed off with red and white hazzard tape. You must not go under this tape or into the sealed off area. There is an easy and hard option on most of the obstacles and you should go around any you feel are outside of your capability. OTG staff are on hand to assist you but please bear in mind they have a number of other participants to help during the session. A risk assessment has been carried out for each obstacle and a full folder of these are available for you to look at should you wish to do so. A copy of our public liability insurance is also available on request. All our staff are First Aid Trained and there is a First Aid area in our tent. All our instructors are also CRB checked. We do not close the course during rain or adverse weather conditions unless we feel it necessary to do so. Any obstacles deemed unsafe during such conditions will be marked as out of bounds. If you require any further information please don't hesitate to get in touch with us on 07890 991437 or info@obstacletrainingground.com

Can I bring my dog?We do allow dogs at the OTG but they must be kept on a lead at all times and it goes without saying you must ensure you clear up after your dog if it fouls. Please remember there are a lot of children at the OTG and not all kids feel comfortable around dogs. If your dog is seen to be causing a nuisance, is off lead or behaving aggressively, you will be asked to leave. Please respect these rules surrounding dogs as we really want to carry on allowing your furry friends to come to our venue.
